My salon sells gift certificates. What is the journal entry to post the sale of a gift certificate?
And it would the log entry is when my customer redeems the gift certificate within six months? If my customers do not redeem their certificates before my end of year or not at all, Does that mean I do not pay taxes on that income?
When the sale: Cash, debit card, credit detected advance of revenue (a liability account) When purchased: income debit unearned credit sales
